The Obama administration, mindful of public anxiety over the government’s mushrooming debt, is shifting emphasis from big-spending policies to deficit reduction. Domestic agencies have been told to brace for a spending freeze or cuts of up to 5 percent as part of a midterm election-year push to rein in record budget shortfalls.

Unde se duc ATM-urile cand se duc?

Unul pe luna. Cam asta e frecventa cu care se fura in ultima vreme bancomatele in nordul Canadei, mai precis pe langa Laurierville. In noaptea de vineri spre sambata, in jurul orelor 3,30, doi indivizi cu o camioneta au „agatat” ATM-ul unei banci si l-au tras, cu bucati de perete cu tot. Politia (de fapt „Siguranta”, ca se cheama Sûreté du Québec) a infiintat linii telefonice speciale, unde poti sa ii dai in gat pe hoti, asigurandu-ti-se confidentialitatea. Ca si cum ala care a furat ATM`ul o sa si-l instaleze in fata casei, sa-l vada toti vecinii si sa crape de ciuda ca ce ATM ultimul racnet si-a tras el, scrie Dan Popa.

Obama, mesaj esential pentru economia mondiala: SUA isi vor micsora deficitul enorm

Barack Obama a anuntat ca SUA vor face "pasi seriosi" pentru micsorarea uriasului deficit bugetar, deficit alimentat de cheltuielile guvernamentale menite sa stimuleze economia afectata de criza, anunta AFP. Numerosi analisti considera ca acest deficit fara precedent nu a reusit decit sa sporeasca si mai mult ingrijorarile legate de starea reala a economiei mondiale.
